The Portuguese mortgage process wasn't built for you.

You found the apartment in Cascais. The bank wants forty-something documents in Portuguese, apostilled, dated within the last thirty days, and packaged in an order nobody bothered to write down. Your accountant in Tel Aviv has never seen the form they're asking for. The broker your friend recommended has called twice and disappeared.

Meanwhile, the seller is talking to the next buyer.

Banks ask for forty documents to underwrite a foreigner. They ask for twelve to underwrite a local.

How it works

Four steps. Mostly ours.

You upload once, from home, in your own language. We handle the cross-border paperwork. You compare real offers — and a local broker walks you to the bank.

  1. 01

Upload from home, in your language

Submit your application from home and upload what you already have — payslips, annual income summary (טופס 106), Israeli bank statements, credit report. The same Hebrew originals you got from your employer, bank, and accountant. We tell you what's needed and where to get each one. Translating is on us.

  2. 02

We package your file and route it to the banks

Every document is translated into Portuguese and laid out in the format Portuguese banks expect. We hand the file to our network of licensed Portuguese brokers, and they take it directly to the banks. What usually takes weeks runs in days because the file arrives ready to underwrite.

  3. 03

You pick from real pre-approval offers

Pre-approvals come back from multiple banks — real underwriting decisions priced to your specific situation, not generic estimates. Compare rates, terms, and the amount each bank is willing to lend you. You pick the offer that fits the deal you want to do.

  4. 04

Your broker walks you the rest of the way

Once you've picked an offer, your broker introduces you to the bank and stays with you through to signing — translating forms, calling the bank, scheduling, explaining what each step means. A licensed Portuguese broker who works in English, on your side from offer to mortgage.

What you get

A real pre-approval, on a timeline that fits the deal.

Days, not weeks.

Most cross-border pre-approvals take eight to twelve weeks of back-and-forth. Ours run on a clock measured in days because the collection, translation, and Portuguese-bank packaging happen in parallel. We already know what Portuguese banks expect from an Israeli file.

Apply as if you were local.

We read Israeli payslips, annual income summaries (טופס 106), Israeli bank statements, and credit reports as first-class inputs, and package them in the format Portuguese banks expect to receive. Far less back-and-forth than starting from scratch on your own.

More offers. More that say yes.

Two things decide whether a Portuguese bank says yes: how many banks see your file, and how cleanly it reads when they do. Our broker network covers more lenders than going to one broker. And because we package the file the way Portuguese banks expect, more of those banks come back with an offer.

An English-speaking broker, end to end.

Once you pick an offer, your broker is your one human contact in Portugal — translating bank emails, taking the calls, booking the notary, following up on stuck paperwork, answering whatever comes up. In English, in your time zone, until you have keys.

More than the mortgage.

A Portuguese mortgage drags a list along with it: NIF, mortgage insurance, property inspection, lawyer, notary. Tell us what you need and we'll line it up with vetted partners we already work with. Same point of contact, same standards, no scrambling for a Lisbon lawyer at midnight.

You focus on the deal. We handle the paperwork.

Cross-border mortgages turn into a part-time job: chasing translations, reformatting tax forms, calling your accountant at eight in the evening to explain a Portuguese form. That's the part we do. You focus on the apartment, the move, the family. What matters.

Why Corridor

The three ways to get a Portuguese mortgage as an Israeli.

Only one of them was built for you.

We replace the part that was broken: the cross-border paperwork and the broker-roulette. The rest of the mortgage stays a regulated, human conversation between you and a licensed broker.

The boring (important) part

What you should expect from us, in writing.

Licensed brokers only.

Every broker in our network is a licensed Portuguese mortgage intermediary (intermediário de crédito), authorised by Banco de Portugal. We don't introduce you to anyone we wouldn't use ourselves.

Your documents are encrypted, end to end.

Documents are uploaded over a secure connection, encrypted at rest, and never shared outside the licensed broker we match you with. You can delete your file at any time.

We don't promise approval.

Pre-approval depends on the bank. We make sure your file is the strongest version of itself before it gets there. But we don't guarantee an outcome, and we don't take a fee for trying.

FAQ

Common questions, plainly answered.

No. The whole pre-approval process happens online from Israel. You'll only need to be in Portugal for the final closing, which happens after a bank has formally approved your loan.

Your file is private. We never share it without your written approval.
